Thread Repair
High strength alloy steel repair inserts are cost effective, reliable and offer a permanent repair to damaged threads. Inserts can be used and installed in most materials including steel, castings, aluminum, alloy steel and virtually any other rigid composites. Installation requires standard drill and tap - no special tools needed.
Positive mechanical lockpins wedge into place to prevent the insert from backing out. Superior strength and dispersion of load over a wider surface area contribute to higher torque values and decreased possibility of thread failure. Inserts are designed to be used with all grades of fasteners and are available in Imperial, Metric, Thin or Heavy Duty Thick Wall sizing. Available in Stainless Steel material if required.
Inserts can be removed. Simply drill out the inside wall to expose and break lockpins, use an extractor to screw out the shell. Replace with a new insert of the same size, no redrilling or retapping required. Quick, simple and effective!
