Spiral Point Power Taps
Our heavy duty spiral point power taps (gun tap) combine the features of a starter and plug tap into one high performance cutter. Power taps are best suited for "through hole" applications pushing the chips forward for faster tapping, reduced binding and extended tool life. With the right set-up they can be used in a drill motor or automated equipment for maintenance or production applications.
Self aligning point supports straighter starts and reduces the chance of breakage. Reinforced shallow neck allows for deeper tapping, the 3 flute profile provides 50% less tooth load plus maximum coolant & lubricant flow to the cutting edges.
Manufactured from high speed steel alloys, these taps are ideal for aluminum, low & high carbon steel, alloyed, stainless, drop forging, grey cast iron, titanium, nimonic alloy, manganese and spring steels. Choose from Imperial or Metric Thread patterns.
