GRADE 5 HEX HEAD CAP SCREWS are typically manufactured from medium carbon steel, quenched and tempered for strength, zinc plated for rust & corrosion protection. Using SAE J429 test methods they have a minimum tensile strength of 120,000 psi (dia. 1/4 to 1.0"). Length is measured from under the head.
Grade 5 Bolts are identified with 3 line markings "/ / /" on the head.
